We pulled anchor a little before 10:30 a.m. and started the 40 mile trip to Lund, B.C. Lund has the distinction of marking the beginning of Highway 1, which extends south to the tip of Chile. Rather than anchor out we paid moorage for the night and stayed tied to the dock, allowing us to spend some time walking around town to check out the bakeries and kayak shops. We topped off the water tank, refueled the dinghy after our multi-hour dinghy ride around Bull Passage and restocked the refrigerator with food and vegetables. We had 7:00 p.m. dinner reservations at the Lund Hotel, a fantastic dinner location—Uncle Raymond had his favorite steamed muscle dinner, Aunt Christine had a seafood fettucine pasta, Trenton a BLT and myself a spinach salad and clam chowder. We turned in around 10:30 p.m. or so to get a good night’s rest for the following day. Tomorrow we are heading for one of my favorite places, Savary Island. We will anchor out as long as conditions stay calm as the sand bottom is not very good for holding the anchor windy conditions. The beaches are nice, the water is warm and we plan to make it around the island on kayaks over the next couple of days.

I took this pic of Savary Island from the seaplane last year:
